“So you want to own a piece of the Caribbean. We like you had this same dream. Flor and PE Properties have made this dream a reality for us through her vision and dogged determination she has created the possibility of owning property in the Caribbean something you could achieve. This is something that most of us only dream about on many a cold dreary winter day.We started construction only a few months ago and our house is about 98% complete as I write this. Yes it’s true, we own a house on the beach in the Caribbean. I actually am chuckling as I write this. We have warm water lapping at a beach that is only 50 feet from our deck off the master bedroom. We have traveled extensively and have considered acquiring properties in other areas of the world we have been, but after meeting Flor once and based on what Flor described to us this was a no brainer. That being said we purchased prior to our having seen the property. Our decision was based only on Flor’s description of the area and a few pictures of the undeveloped land. It was probably Flor’s enthusiasm that impressed us the most. So we took the plunge. Our first trip out to Honduras was with great anticipation of the unknown ....had we acquired swamp land? Did it really exist.....? Come’ on what is the catch....? Upon our first arrival we were amazed. Flor had described perfectly what we were getting into. It is so far beyond our expectations and we have to pinch ourselves every once in a while to make sure it is real and that we aren’t dreaming. We have traveled to the area twice now and love Honduras. It has all the conveniences of what we have come to expect. It even has better cell phones service than in Canada. We also love that it has not been over run by tourist yet. It might be one of the few bastions of opportunity left in the Caribbean, well at least one of the last few with a stable government that allows foreign property ownership. This adventure has proceeded with us taking extreme comfort in knowing that we are making a big difference for a change. Our investment is going directly into the local economy and directly effecting the lives of many people in the local communities. This has had much more of an impact than our other charitable causes. Flor believes i giving back to the community and it shows in the respect she has in the area. Everything done in the area is done with consideration of impact on the local communities and with a way to benefit them. The process of construction has been one of trust and Flor delivers in that department. We do not lose a wink of sleep knowing she is at the reins and taking care of business. As Flor is from the area she knows how business is conducted locally unlike a foreign company. The process is obviously not the same as acquiring property here you have to make sure you are in the right frame of mind....the Caribbean frame of mind and not worry so much like back home. When we are in Honduras we feel we have family there. We will be sleeping in our house on the beach in a few weeks and can hardly wait. Can hardly wait to taste some of our limes....... See ya on the beach! Todd & Shauna November 22, 2007 Ps if you don’t believe us have David broker a meeting with us and hear it first hand. We are more than willing to share our experiences with others. Flor, Gracias del fondo de nuestros corazones por hacer nuestro sueno vienen verdad!” ............................................................. “My wife and I have just returned from Honduras where we inspected our newly completed house on the PE Properties Site. We can’t say enough about how pleased we are with the results. We are one of the first to actually build on the property and had taken a few risks, but all-in-all it was a relatively straight forward process largely due to the care, attention and hospitality of Flor and her family. The approach that PE Properties and Constructora Del Caribe have taken in training and supporting the local community is also highly commendable. For us, the ability to actually own our own property at a reasonable cost, coupled with the various recreational activities we have experienced in our three visits this year (e.g. hiking, swimming, white water rafting, scuba diving etc.), have made it a great choice for us and our two older boys. Like any developing country in the central America region, there are normal concerns around security and stability which people need to be aware of and act accordingly. We think this developing Canadian community on the Caribbean has a lot to offer for those who are looking for a warm climate retreat, amazing natural surroundings, North America comforts and a bit of adventure.” Bill Elliott November 1st, 2007 EMAIL: wmeags@hotmail.com ............................................................. My husband Tom and I are prod owners of a little piece of tropical paradise in Paraiso Escondido Properties. We just got back from Honduras a few weeks ago and are still smiling – partly from the positive experience we had down there, partly from the knowledge that we will be living a long time dream, and partly from our incredible good fortune we had in buying in P.E. Properties. After twice visiting Honduras and our property, we know we have made the right decision and a sound investment. We absolutely love the country and the people we have encountered. What we especially like about this enterprise is that we can live in a secure community, can live in our own home in a tropical climate, can get a bigger bang for our buck (check out the inexpensive year round bounty of fresh fruit and vegetables), can socialize with fellow Canadians, can become involved in local community works and can extend ourselves as much or as little as we want. This has all come about because of a wonderful lady by the name of Flor Espedal, an owner/manager. Although we first met Flor in Edmonton at the Paraiso Escondido Office, we got to know her better in Honuras after spending time with her in La Cebia and Belfate. She has got to be one of the most hardworking, charitable people you will ever meet. Her intergrity is beyond reproach. We are currently designing our house and can’t wait to secure the dream. See you in Honduras! Cheers, Annette and Tom Stollery P.S. For anyone interested we would be happy to share our thoughts. We can be reaches at stoll_ajs@shaw.ca
