Owner's History: A TRUE WOMAN OF VISION 1958- Flor Lopez was born in Honduras, the town of Yoro, and in the province of Yoro from Otilia Lopez and Luis Fransisco Lopez. Her mom passed away from appendicitis when Flor was nine years of age. 1976- Flor Lopez graduated from the INSTITUTO NATIONAL DE SENORITAS as one of the youngest college graduates in Honduras at the time. 1977- Flor Lopez began her career as an elementary teacher in ESCUELA GENERAL FRANSISCO MORAZAN in the town of NUEVA ARMENIA in the province of FRANSISCO MORAZAN. 1979- Flor Lopez married Thomas David Navarro and gave birth to David Lopez one of 6 children that she would go on to have. 1986- Flor and her 5 children left Honduras for Guatemala where they waited for almost six months to be accepted into Canada and where she delivered her youngest daughter ANA LOPEZ. 1987- Flor and her children arrived in Toronto where they saw snow for the first time. 1988- Flor and her children moved to Regina, Saskatchewan 1989- After celebrating a Saskatchewan Roughriders GREY CUP win, Flor and her children moved to Calgary, Alberta where Flor continued her English Education. 1992- Flor moved to Edmonton, Alberta where she opened FLORAS FASHION, a clothing design company which specialized in wedding dresses and women's fashion. 1995- Flor closed her company to begin a career in industrial manufacturing which led her to manage companies in the clothing industry, the inflatable balloon advertising industry, and later in the mattress manufacturing. 1999- Flor returned to Honduras for the first time in almost 14 years to visit her family and to help with relief aid for the victims of Hurricane MITCH with assistance from the association she began in Canada called The HONDURAN CANADIAN ASSOSIATION OF EDMONTON. While in Honduras Flor was offered 5 acres of land on the island of Roatan for $6000/acre but was unable to purchase at the time and thought it would be a poor investment but today a 1 bedroom condo in Roatan is selling for $199,900 U.S. 2004- After two wrist surgeries, Flor had to leave the manufacturing industry and went back to school where she received a diploma in computer administration, customer service, and sales. 2005- Flor and some friends returned to Honduras and purchased a parcel of land which became Villas Boreales. When Flor returned to Canada she opened up her sales agency MY PARADISE PROPERTIES which is now PARAISO ESCONDIDO PROPERTIES Inc. 2010- Flor is celebrating the 5 year anniversary of her agency.
